AutoBorder

Innovating Secure and Efficient Border Management Through Vehicle-Integrated Technologies

What is AutoBorder?

AutoBorder aims to develop a next-generation drive-through border control system that enables fast, seamless, and secure identity verification for travellers in vehicles.

By combining biometric identification, digital travel credentials, advanced risk assessment, and in-vehicle sensors, the system will greatly reduce waiting time while maintaining security standards at EU external borders.

Our Pilots

AutoBorder will test its technologies in three real-world pilot environments: commercial vehicles and tourist coaches at the Eurotunnel and private cars at the Romania–Moldova land border.

Each pilot assesses how (near) non-stop identity verification performs under different traffic patterns, vehicle types, and operational conditions.

These demonstrations will showcase how AutoBorder can enhance efficiency, improve security, and improve the traveller experience across diverse border contexts.
