AutoBorder partners will meet on 27 May in Coquelles (Eurotunnel premises) to kick off discussions on the Smart Freight Border Pilot (France–UK), coordinated by Getlink Eurotunnel.
This first in-person workshop will bring together key partners — University of Reading, IDEMIA Public Security, In and Outcomes, ITTI, Centre for Research and Technology Hellas and European Associaton for Biometrics — to explore the initial steps towards the first real-world use case at the Coquelles–Folkestone border.
AutoBorder will run three real-world pilots: freight and coach traffic at the Eurotunnel, and private cars at the Romania–Moldova land border. These will test (near) non-stop identity verification under varied conditions, demonstrating gains in efficiency, security, and traveller experience.
